Shuffle

I never use the shuffle function when I listen to music on my phone. I always find I skip half the songs and listen to something I probably would have chosen anyway.

When I was in the office this morning doing paperwork for the first hour and a half I thought I’d give it a shot. I guess I was hoping something would come on that would inspire me or speak to me or give me a sign or something.

Here’s what came up:

‘Till Your Fool Comes HomeĀ – James Hunter

Hourglass – Squeeze

Profoundly in Love with Pandora – Ian Dury

For Your Lover Give Some Time – Richard Hawley

Set Me Free – The Kinks

I Shall be Released – Bob Dylan

Yesterday Is Here – Southside Johnny & LaBamba’s Big Band

Jackson Cage – Bruce Springsteen

Fast Forward (Serendipity soundtrack) – Alan Silvestri

Jungleland – Bruce Springsteen

I’m so Bored with The U.S.A – The Clash

Bhindi Bhagee (live) – Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros

Kitty’s Back (live at The Main Point 1973) – Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

We Take Care of Our Own – Bruce Springsteen

Please Call Me Baby – Southside Johnny & LaBamba’s Big Band

You Do Something to Me – The Kinks

Changing Man – Paul Weller

Knockin‘ On Heavens Door – Bob Dylan

No Surrender – Bruce Springsteen

I was pretty unimpressed with the selection. Pretty much nothing I hadn’t listened to in the last couple of months. Except maybe The Kinks and Bob Dylan. Only one that put a real smile on my face was Jungleland. Never fails to make me feel fantastic.
